Teen arrested for involvement in child marriage in Achham

Achham: Police have arrested a teenager involved in a case of child marriage in Achham district.

According to the District Police Office, Achham, the incident took place on Tuesday morning when a teenage boy from Mangalsen allegedly abducted a teenage girl and conducted a marriage ceremony by applying vermilion at a local temple. As the newlywed couple was returning home, locals alerted the Mellekh Police Station, prompting immediate police intervention.

Both teenagers have been taken into custody and brought to the District Police Office, Achham, for investigation. Authorities have registered a case against them under charges related to child marriage. The police have obtained a five-day remand to continue the investigation.
