Police post in-charge assaulted during luggage check in Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Dhir Bahadur Chand, in-charge of the Pachui Police Post in Belauri Municipality, Kanchanpur, was assaulted in broad daylight near the police post.

The incident occurred during a routine luggage check when Chand was attacked by a group led by Rahul Rana, a local hardware shop owner accused of involvement in smuggling activities.

An argument erupted between Chand and the group during the check, which escalated into physical assault and verbal misconduct against the police personnel. Following the incident, tensions rose at the police post.

Sagar Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, stated that legal action will be taken against the smugglers involved.
