Elderly man dies in house fire in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A tragic house fire in Kailali has claimed the life of a 76-year-old man.

Dagoura Tharu, a resident of Jawalpur, Gauriganga Municipality-10, died on the spot after a fire broke out in his home at around 2 a.m. on Monday. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ran Bahadur Chand, Chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, Tharu was sleeping on the upper floor of the two-story house, which had a wooden and straw roof, when the fire started.

A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Masuria, managed to bring the blaze under control approximately an hour later. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
