Four women-run industries selected for technology transfer program in Sudurpaschim

Kailali: Four women-operated industries have been selected for a technology transfer program in Sudurpaschim Province.
The Directorate of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment selected the industries through a province-wide proposal call covering all nine districts. Proposals were invited from registered women industrialists currently operating businesses within the province.

According to Directorate Information Officer Yashoda Bohara, the selected industries are: Muktakamayya Food Industry, operated by Junkiri Devi Chaudhary in Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur; Aljibi Garment Industry, operated by Amrita Devi Dholi in Janaki Rural Municipality-6, Kailali; Siddha Bhagwati Livestock and Agriculture Firm, operated by Parbati Dhami in Chure Rural Municipality-6; and Panchakoti Agricultural Firm, operated by Sunita Karki in Dilasaini Rural Municipality-6, Baitadi.

The provincial government has allocated a budget of Rs. 15 lakhs for the program in the current fiscal year 2081/82. Grants will be used to purchase essential materials and technology for the selected industries. Only women entrepreneurs who have not received similar support in the past three fiscal years are eligible for this subsidy.

The Directorate has outlined that 70 percent of the cost for technology acquisition will be covered by the provincial government, while the remaining 30 percent will be borne by the industrialists. Agreements with the selected entrepreneurs have already been finalized.
Per the Directorate's procedure, at least three eligible proposals must be submitted for subsidy disbursement. If more proposals are received, the available funds will be distributed among the selected applicants accordingly. The Directorate continues to support all registered and operational domestic industries through technology purchase subsidies.
