Man from Dadeldhura arrested in Kailali with illegal goods worth Rs 42.37 lakhs

Dhangadhi: A man from Dadeldhura has been arrested in Kailali with illegally imported goods valued at Rs 42.37 lakhs.
Man Bahadur Wali, 32, a resident of Alital Rural Municipality-4 in Dadeldhura and currently residing in Godavari Municipality-2, Kailali, was arrested during a police search of his rented room. Authorities seized 2,825 mobile phone displays, suspected to have been smuggled from India.

A police team from the Area Police Office in Malakheti, Kailali, conducted the operation and took Wali into custody.

In a separate incident, police seized goods worth approximately Rs 59,100 from the traffic intersection in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-3. A patrol team from the District Police Office, Kailali, recovered customs-evading items — including suits, gamchhas, kurti sets, tops, and other articles — found abandoned at the scene. The goods are believed to have been illegally imported from India.
