Office assistant dismissed for derogatory social media post against Mohanyal chair

Dhangadhi: An office assistant at Mohanyal Rural Municipality in Kailali has been removed from his position for posting a derogatory status against the chairman of the rural municipality on social media.

Ashok Thapa was dismissed after allegedly making offensive remarks on Facebook targeting Chairman Devidatta Upadhyay. Chief Administrative Officer Rupesh Sharma Baral confirmed that Thapa was asked to provide a written explanation but failed to respond.

Baral stated that Thapa had posted the status on Baisakh 24, and following the lack of response to the notice, he was formally removed from his duties on Baisakh 30.
