Fire hydrants installed at eight Dhangadhi locations to mitigate fire disasters
Dhangadhi: In an effort to provide immediate water supply and effectively respond to fire-related disasters, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City has installed fire hydrants at eight strategic locations across the city.
Mayor Gopal Hamal announced that fire hydrants have been installed at key sites including Dhangadhi Crossroads, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the Veterinary Hospital, the District Administration building, in front of Nepal Rastra Bank, Shahid Gate, Buddha Chowk, and Shivanagar.
“Our new fire hydrants will eliminate the need for residents to fetch water from the municipality office during a fire emergency, thereby enabling the fire brigade to access water quickly and reduce damage significantly,” said Mayor Hamal. He explained that in the event of a fire near a hydrant, a jet pump could be used to promptly extinguish the blaze.
In addition, the Sub-Metropolitan City is planning to extend this initiative by installing more fire hydrants in all 19 wards of the city.
