Dadeldhura: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has ruled out the possibility of left-wing unity before the 2084 elections, citing betrayal during previous efforts.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Center Nepal in Dadeldhura, Prachanda said that earlier attempts to unify with KP Sharma Oli (KPG) had ended in deception. "We wanted left-wing unity. We also proposed unity with KPG. However, it was broken. We were badly deceived when we tried to force it once again," he said. "Not only the party but also the Nepali people were deceived. Therefore, there is no such possibility now and until the 2084 elections."

Prachanda clarified that his party is not currently seeking to overthrow or form a government but expressed concerns about the government's direction. “The government is moving towards good governance and destroying the work we have started. We are worried that the government is going in the opposite direction,” he said, accusing the administration of protecting wrongdoers and targeting those working in the public interest.

“We are worried. We are warning. We are not in the game of toppling the government right now. The way the events have progressed — it is not good,” he added, alleging that the government is focused on self-preservation and suppressing opposition voices.
