Pregnant woman killed, husband injured in lightning strike in Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: A tragic lightning strike in Kanchanpur has claimed the life of a pregnant woman and left her husband seriously injured.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, 24-year-old Lalmati Rana of Shuklaphanta Municipality-12, Tilki, died after being struck by lightning on Sunday morning. Her husband, 28-year-old Ratan Singh Rana, sustained serious injuries in the incident and has been taken to Dhangadhi for medical treatment.

The couple had gone to their orchard in the Bagar area to collect vegetables when they were struck by lightning accompanied by strong winds. Authorities confirmed that Lalmati was pregnant at the time of the incident.
