Goods smuggled from India seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Authorities have seized goods smuggled from India by evading customs duties in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts
In Kailali, items worth an estimated Rs. 298,550 were confiscated from multiple locations, including Dhangadhi-3 Milan Chowk, Dhangadhi-10 Simalghat, Bhajani-5 near Tonija Farm, and Joshipur-1 Piparkoti. A police patrol team deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, and its subordinate units took control of various illegally imported items such as bidis, tobacco, pan masala, suit pieces, kurtis, tops, and car AC cells.
In a separate operation in Kanchanpur, a police patrol team from Area Police Office, Belauri, Station-6, seized smuggled goods worth approximately Rs. 415,000 from Belauri-2 Katan. The confiscated items included abandoned chicken chicks and bicycles that had entered without customs clearance. These goods were destroyed in the presence of local residents and public representatives.
