SPA youth short film competition announced in Dhangadhi to empower aspiring young filmmakers

Dhangadhi: The ‘SPA Youth Short Film Competition’ targeting secondary, higher secondary, and undergraduate students is set to be organized in Dhangadhi.
Organized by Forty Ten Pvt. Ltd., the competition aims to offer capacity development opportunities to youth interested in film production, screenwriting, acting, and filmmaking technology. Interested participants can apply free of charge either online or by submitting a physical form, as announced during a press conference held on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Sameer Prashad Bhatta, the owner of Forty Ten Pvt. Ltd., stated that this Dhangadhi edition of the SPA Youth Short Film Competition—open to students from grade 9 to the final year of their bachelor’s degree—is a pioneering initiative in the Far West. He shared that SPA College Dhangadhi is the title sponsor, with support from Everest Film Academy Kathmandu (main education partner), Actors Hub Kathmandu (talent nurture partner), Roots n Fruits Dhangadhi (refreshment partner), and Edupal Nepal Dhangadhi (learning partner).

Shibaraj Bhatta, General Secretary of the Federation of Journalists, Sudurpaschim Province, highlighted the program as a golden opportunity for aspiring content creators in the region. Mohan Bhatta, representing Edupal Nepal, expressed confidence that the initiative would provide meaningful engagement for youth involved in the arts sector.
Yograj Gautam Upadhyay, campus head of SPA College Dhangadhi, emphasized the college’s commitment to promoting innovative, skill-based, and technology-friendly programs. He encouraged all eligible students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to showcase their creativity and storytelling abilities.
