Man fatally shot during hunting trip in Doti, 10 arrested
Doti: A 24-year-old man from Doti has died after being accidentally shot during a hunting expedition. The deceased has been identified as Naresh Sarki of Barchai, Badikedar Rural Municipality-2, according to the District Police Office, Doti.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon along the banks of the Bedupata River in Badikedar Rural Municipality-1. According to police, a firearm carried by 48-year-old Kamal Singh Khadka of Rajeda, Badikedar-1, accidentally discharged, fatally striking Naresh in the right side of his chest. He died on the spot.
Police have arrested ten individuals in connection with the incident. Those taken into custody include Kamal Singh Khadka (48), Khem Khadka (26), Tara Singh Khadka (52), Tejendra Bhat (39), Ammar Shah (40), Chakra Bhat (31), Sunil Bam (18), Ganesh Gharti Magar (37), Man Bahadur Shah (71), and Julesh Namjali Magar (26), all residents of Badikedar Rural Municipality.
Doti Police stated that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
