Four-year-old attacked with sickle by relative in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A four-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being attacked with a sickle in Kailali district.

According to the District Police Office, Prem, the son of Hari Kadel and a resident of Deukaliya in Ghodaghodi Municipality-5, was assaulted by 40-year-old Arjun Kadel, a relative of the boy’s grandfather.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabindra Singh Bohara said that while the child was playing near a fireplace, Arjun lured him into a nearby room where straw was stored and attacked him with a sickle.

The injured child was initially treated at a local medical facility in Ghodaghodi and has since been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment. The attacker, Arjun Kadel, has been taken into custody by the Area Police Office in Malakheti. Authorities suspect he may be suffering from mental illness.
