Lightning and wind disrupt power supply in Bajhang, Repairs underway

Dhangadhi: Lightning accompanied by strong winds and rain has damaged the Khodpe-Bajhang 33 kV national transmission line in Bajhang, causing a complete disruption of electricity service in the district.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, damaging transmission lines in Sunkuda and Syandi of Bitthadchir Rural Municipality. As a result, local residents have been living without electricity since Wednesday evening.

The power outage has severely impacted daily life, affecting government and private offices, hospitals, media houses, and other service providers. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority's Bajhang Distribution Center, technicians and employees from Chainpur and Bagthala distribution centers have been deployed to carry out repair work.

The authority has stated that repair efforts are ongoing and that they are working to restore power supply as soon as possible.
