One dead, three injured in jeep accident in Baitadi

Baitadi: One person has died and three others have been injured in a jeep accident in Baitadi.

According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, a jeep (registration number BAC 5659) traveling from Dehimandaun to Giregada met with an accident at Nanigad, Dasharathchand Municipality-11 on Friday night.

Chancha Dayal, 54, a resident of Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-5, was seriously injured in the incident and rushed to the District Hospital, Baitadi for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The injured have been identified as Rakesh Koli, 35, the driver of the jeep and a resident of Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-6; Laliram Koli, 52, of the same area; and Kabita Pariyar, approximately 30, of Dasharathchand Municipality-10. They are currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Baitadi, according to Police Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesperson for the District Police Office.

Police said the jeep fell about 40 meters off the road during the accident.
