Dhangadhi: Shri Malikarjun Darchula Service Committee was established in B.S. 2065 with a commitment to community service and social welfare.

Located in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-5, the committee’s building stands on the north side of the Uttarbehdi bridge in Taranagar (Chitrakut), covering an area of one kattha and a few dhurs. The facility includes a yoga hall and toilet on the ground floor, an office in the middle, and a seminar hall with a toilet on the second floor.

The committee acknowledges the contributions of various donors, individuals, and organizations, whose names and donation amounts are displayed on inscriptions within the premises. The organization publishes an annual wall calendar and a book called "Darchula Darpan." The construction of its building was made possible through land donations and financial support from distinguished individuals, local bodies, and the state and federal governments.

The committee consists of teachers, lawyers, professors, doctors, industrialists, businesspersons, employees, farmers, and general citizens originally from Darchula but now residing in different parts of Kailali. More than 400 life members are currently affiliated with the organization.

Since its inception, the organization has been actively involved in disaster relief efforts, financial assistance programs, blood donation drives, and free preparation classes for the Public Service Commission and Teachers Service Commission. Additionally, it conducts awareness programs on drug abuse and traffic safety, eye camps, sanitation drives, yoga sessions, and fruit distribution for the sick.

Many individuals from Darchula living in Kailali have also established a revolving fund in memory of their loved ones, providing scholarships to underprivileged and hardworking students. The committee has continued the Holi celebration tradition since its founding, with funds raised from the event being deposited into its account. The ongoing blood donation program has been particularly commendable in recent years.

On the eve of New Year 2082 BS, the committee is set to organize the 9th large-scale blood donation program on Saturday, Chaitra 23, 2081, in collaboration with Red Cross Kailali. The event will also include New Year greetings and the release of a wall newspaper.

Although the committee organizes the blood donation drive, the collected blood will be stored at Red Cross Dhangadhi and made available nationwide. The committee urges students, citizens, and blood donors to actively participate in the event, check their blood pressure, determine their blood type, and contribute to saving lives through blood donation.

On the occasion of the upcoming New Year 2082, the committee extends its best wishes for a prosperous Nepal and expresses heartfelt prayers for the health, longevity, and progress of all Nepalis.
