Child succumbs to injuries in Kailali tractor accident

Dhangadhi: An 11-year-old child from Lakhimpur Khiri, India, who was injured in a tractor accident in Kailali, has tragically passed away.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when an unspecified tractor carrying Indian pilgrims overturned while returning from the Behdababa Temple in Manikapur, Kailari Rural Municipality-5, said Police Inspector Darshan Khadka of the District Police Office.

The tractor was carrying 43 people, including the driver. Among them, 24 injured individuals are receiving treatment at various hospitals, three have been discharged, and 14 were reported safe, according to the police.

The Area Police Office, Hasulia, has taken the tractor under control, while the driver, 25-year-old Chaulandra Barma of Kalapost, Khiri Singha, Lakhimpur, India, is absconding, and a search operation is underway to locate him.
