Protest erupts over delayed reconstruction of four-lane Mahakali bridge embankment
Kanchanpur: Locals have staged a protest against the delayed reconstruction of the four-lane bridge embankment over the Mahakali River, connecting Dodhara and Chandani in Kanchanpur.
The protest was organized as a pressure campaign, with demonstrators expressing frustration over the authorities' inaction despite months passing since the bridge embankment collapsed.
As part of the demonstration, protesters blocked the road for half an hour on Saturday morning. However, the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, confirmed that the road has now reopened.
The embankment of the under-construction four-lane Mahakali Bridge was damaged by floods last Bhadra. Despite continuous demands from locals for its timely reconstruction since Asoj, authorities have yet to take action.
