Timely disaster management crucial, says DCC Chief Chaudhary

Dhangadhi: District Coordination Committee Kailali Chief Tika Chaudhary has emphasized the importance of timely disaster management to mitigate risks and ensure effective relief efforts.

Speaking at an advocacy meeting on climate justice, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health, and gender inclusion held in Bhajani, Kailali, on Wednesday, Chaudhary highlighted the disproportionate impact of disasters on children, senior citizens, and pregnant women, stressing the need for early preparedness. She also pointed out the ineffectiveness of current relief distribution efforts and urged stakeholders to address the issue.

Kailari Rural Municipality Vice President Bhagwati Chaudhary underscored the significance of human development in disaster risk reduction. She stated that proper relief distribution, along with community engagement, school awareness programs, and collaboration with stakeholders, is essential to minimize the damage caused by disasters.
