Dhangadhi: The Far West Provincial Government has intensified preparations for the upcoming Investment and Development Conference, scheduled for Asoj 1 and 2 in Dhangadhi.

The decision to hold the conference was made by the Council of Ministers on Falgun 21, with a pre-investment preparation conference set for Chaitra 27 to ensure its success.

A meeting held on Monday, chaired by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, who also serves as the Coordinator of the Steering Committee, brought together ministers, ministers of state, former chief ministers, members of the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission, and secretaries of various ministries.

Chief Minister Shah outlined the objectives of the conference, which include attracting domestic and foreign investment, fostering an investment-friendly environment, implementing policy, legal, and programmatic reforms, and promoting public-private collaboration.

Despite being rich in economic potential, Far West Province has struggled with industrial infrastructure gaps, limited investment, and a lack of long-term development projects, hindering economic growth and employment opportunities. Chief Minister Shah emphasized the importance of the conference in boosting the province’s economic activities.

To ensure smooth execution, several committees have been formed:
- Main Organizing Committee – Chaired by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah
- Advisory Committee – Chaired by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba
- Main Directing Committee – Chaired by Chief Minister Shah
- Coordination and Facilitation Committee – Chaired by Former Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal
- Executive Committee – Chaired by Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa

The conference aims to unlock investment opportunities, accelerate economic development, and create sustainable growth in the Far West Province.
