Light rain expected in Far West, snowfall likely in mountainous regions

Dhangadhi: The country is currently experiencing the partial influence of the westerly wind and local wind, leading to varying weather conditions across different regions.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Forecasting Division, the Far West Province is witnessing light rainfall in one or two locations. The weather remains partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the Far West and Karnali Provinces, while the rest of the country experiences partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.

By this afternoon, the hilly areas will continue to be partly to generally cloudy, with light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning expected in isolated locations. Additionally, the division has forecasted light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, Sudurpaschim, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces will experience partly to generally cloudy skies, while other regions will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear. There is a likelihood of light rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as one or two locations in other provinces. Light snowfall is also expected in multiple areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The division has advised taking necessary precautions as the weather conditions may partially impact daily life, health, and road and air transport.
