70 infants and 3 women in labor die in Baitadi over three years

Baitadi: Over the past three years, 70 infants and three women in labor have lost their lives in Baitadi, according to the Health Office, Baitadi.

Official statistics reveal that 43 newborns died in the fiscal year 2078/79, followed by 11 in 2079/80, and 13 in 2080/81. Additionally, three more infant deaths have been recorded from Shrawan to mid-Magh of the current fiscal year.

The data highlights ongoing concerns about maternal and infant mortality in the region.
