Semi-final draw completed for Gauriganga National football tournament

Dhangadhi: The semi-final draw of the Jaya Prithvi Bahadur Singh Gauriganga National Football Tournament in Gauriganga, Kailali has been finalized. Lumbini Province has directly advanced to the semi-finals after Koshi Province withdrew on the fourth day of the tournament.

The Gauriganga-11 Sports Club is organizing the event under the auspices of the Sudurpaschim Sports Council. Gaighat Football Club of Koshi Province announced its absence through an official letter, citing its participation in the President's Cup as the league winner of Koshi Province.

Following Koshi Province’s withdrawal, the semi-final matchups have been set:
Lumbini Province's Rising Star Club will face Bagmati Province's Lucky Star Club for a place in the final.

Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province will clash in the other semi-final.

The champion team will receive a trophy and Rs 500,000 cash prize, while the runner-up will receive a trophy and Rs 250,000. Additional awards include:
Best Player: Rs 50,000
Best Goalkeeper: Rs 15,000
Best Defender: Rs 15,000
Best Forward: Rs 15,000
Top Scorer: Rs 15,000
Emerging Player: Rs 15,000
Fair Play Team: Rs 15,000
Man of the Match (each game): Rs 5,000 and a trophy

The tournament features teams from all seven provinces, with provincial teams or clubs participating in coordination with the Provincial Football Association. The competition will run until Falgun 14.

Dinesh Kalel, President of Gauriganga-11 Sports Club, stated that the tournament is dedicated to national luminaries of the Far West Province, with the slogan "Football is the Basis of Prosperity." This marks the fifth edition of the tournament organized by Gauriganga-11 Club.
