Foreign Minister seeks Qatari assistance for Bipin Joshi’s release

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has requested Qatar’s support in securing the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali youth held captive by Hamas.
During a sideline meeting at the 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday, Minister Rana Deuba and Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi discussed bilateral issues, including scholarships for Nepali students in Qatar and skilled technical workforce exchanges.
On this occasion, Minister Rana Deuba commended Qatar’s mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire and peace negotiations. She urged Minister Muraikhi to take special initiatives to secure Joshi’s release.
Previously, Minister Rana Deuba made a similar appeal via phone call to Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, who serves as the chief negotiator in peace talks between Israel and Hamas.
Since last year, the Nepalese government has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts for Joshi’s release, advocating through the United Nations, international organizations, and regional platforms.
