Unidentified body found in Baitadi remains unclaimed

Baitadi: The identity of a man’s body found abandoned in Baitadi remains unknown, even after three days of discovery.

The decomposed body was recovered on Thursday from Arubata Bhir in Patan Municipality-8, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi. Despite efforts, the victim, estimated to be around 40 years old, has not yet been identified.

Police Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesperson for the District Police Office, stated that the state of decomposition has made identification difficult. Following the retrieval of the body from the cliff, a post-mortem was conducted.

As no one has come forward to claim the deceased, authorities have prepared to keep the body in the morgue of the district hospital with arrangements to prevent further decomposition. Inspector Pandey mentioned that notifications have been sent out to assist in identification. If no claims are made, the body will be managed as per official body management guidelines.
