Over 1,000 girls vaccinated against HPV in Surnaya, Baitadi
Baitadi: A total of 1,054 girls have been vaccinated against cervical cancer in Surnaya Rural Municipality, Baitadi, as part of a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign.
The vaccination drive, conducted from Magh 27 to Falgun 1, targeted girls aged 10 to 14, including students from grades 6 to 10 and out-of-school girls, according to Ram Singh Mahara, head of the rural municipality's health department.
A total of 27 vaccination centers across the municipality facilitated the campaign. Ward-wise vaccination figures include:
Ward 1: 69 girls
Ward 2: 169 girls
Ward 3: 97 girls
Ward 4: 169 girls
Ward 5: 86 girls
Ward 6: 177 girls
Ward 7: 203 girls
Ward 8: 84 girls
The Health Office, Baitadi, confirmed that the HPV vaccination campaign has been successfully completed in all 10 municipalities of the district, contributing to the nationwide effort to prevent cervical cancer.
