Dhangadhi: Harish Bhat from Patan Khodpe, Baitadi, has won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 in the ongoing Arjun Trophy National Cricket Tournament in Dhangadhi.

Harish secured the prize by catching a six during the second semi-final match, earning the reward from Bread Box, which had announced the prize for the first spectator to catch a six in the semi-finals. Since no six was caught in the first semi-final, Harish became the first and only spectator to achieve this feat in the tournament so far.

Harish, an athlete specializing in javelin throw, arrived in Dhangadhi yesterday for the district and provincial selection rounds of the 10th National Games. He decided to visit FAPLA Stadium after being encouraged by friends to watch the cricket match. Recalling the moment, he said he managed to grab the ball by moving backward at the right time.

Harish plans to invest the prize money in his athletics career. Along with the cash prize, he also received an Air Bud from Khalti. Meanwhile, Bread Box has announced a Rs 100,000 reward for any spectator who catches a six in the final match, provided they have purchased a valid ticket.
