Free eye camp provides vision care to 217 people in Shuklaphanta
Kanchanpur: A free eye camp held in Shuklaphanta Municipality-9 has benefited 217 people, offering essential eye care services to local residents.
The camp was organized with financial support from the ward office and technical assistance from Dhangadhi Eye Hospital. During the examinations, 10 women and 13 men were diagnosed with cataracts. Ward Chairman Ramesh Bahadur Air confirmed that arrangements have been made for free cataract surgeries for these patients.
Dhangadhi Eye Hospital will conduct the surgeries at no cost, and patients selected for the procedure will receive one-way transportation assistance to Dhangadhi. Additionally, the hospital will provide free medications and eyeglasses, according to Ward Chairman Air.
As part of the camp's services, 32 patients received free prescription glasses, while others were provided with medications and necessary consultations.
For the past six years, the ward office has been consistently organizing free eye camps, ensuring access to vision care services for the community. To date, over 600 cataract patients have undergone free surgeries through this initiative.
