Construction begins on Bauniya-Tikapur road section of Seti highway

Dhangadhi: Work has officially commenced on the Bauniya-Tikapur road section of the Seti Highway, focusing on infrastructure improvements such as concrete walls, drainage systems, and road filling. The project, located 4.5 kilometers south of Bauniyan Bazaar in Kailali, began on Friday.
The contract for the project, valued at Rs 6 crores 15 lakhs, has been awarded to Prithvi Mahanigalashaini and Prithvi HB JV, with a completion deadline set for mid-Ashar of the current fiscal year. The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 1,100 meters of concrete drainage, around 2,000 meters of concrete walls on both sides of the road, and the filling of a 4.5-kilometer-long, 16-meter-wide road.
Bardagoriya Rural Municipality Chairman Karna Bahadur Kunwar officially inaugurated the construction and urged the contractors to ensure timely completion. The inauguration event was attended by Vice Chairman Ganeshraj Giri, construction entrepreneurs Shivraj Sapkota and Ravi Shahi, along with other public representatives.

Meanwhile, blacktopping of the 10-kilometer Durgauli-Pratappur road section of the Seti Highway is currently underway. However, progress on the construction of a three-kilometer track in Mohanyal Rural Municipality within the Kailali section remains incomplete. Additionally, work on a 40-kilometer road in the Kadikedar-3 and Bogtan Foodsil-1 areas of Doti has been halted due to obstructions caused by trees.
