Godavari municipality installs wire mesh on Dhangadhi-Attariya 6-lane road

Dhangadhi: Godavari Municipality in Kailali has begun installing wire mesh along the median of the Dhangadhi-Attariya 6-lane road to enhance road safety and beautification.

The municipality signed a contract for the double-layer wire mesh installation on Mangsir 25, 2081. So far, approximately five kilometers of the road section within the municipality have been covered, with bridge and zebra crossing areas left open. Municipality spokesperson Gopal Dutta Bhatta confirmed that the work is being carried out using the municipal budget. "We are installing wire mesh to reduce accidents, create greenery, and improve the aesthetics of the road area. The project is expected to be completed within this month," he stated.

The total cost for installing five kilometers of wire mesh is Rs 80,23,474, including VAT. The municipality had initially allocated Rs 1,18,46,354 for the project and awarded the contract to Suyal Construction Pvt. Ltd. As per the agreement, the construction work must be completed by 25 Magh 2081.

Suyal Construction has already commenced work on the project. Spokesperson Bhatta further noted that tree plantation will follow the completion of the wire mesh installation, aiming to promote road safety, reduce pedestrian-vehicle collisions, and enhance the environmental balance. He expressed confidence that the initiative will not only improve road safety but also contribute to the area's greenery and overall aesthetics.
