Two detained for questioning in Achham teenagers' death case

Achham: Police have detained two individuals for questioning in connection with the deaths of two teenagers in Achham.

The two suspects, both under the age of 20, were taken into custody by the district police on Sunday evening from Dhakari Rural Municipality.

The bodies of Saraswati Khadka (15) and Ishwori Khadka (14) from Dhakari Rural Municipality-8 were discovered in a community forest located in Ward 1 of the same municipality on Saturday evening. The teenagers had gone to graze goats on Friday morning but did not return, prompting concern.

The bodies were found in separate locations and in a mutilated condition, raising suspicions of foul play. Relatives have alleged that the teenagers were murdered and have demanded a thorough investigation by local authorities.

The deceased were from the same family, with Saraswati being an aunt (Phupu) and Ishwori her niece (Bhadaini). Acting on information provided by the family about a suspicious individual, police detained the two suspects.

The investigation is ongoing as family members continue to demand justice for the deaths.
