Vine conservation campaign launched in Beldandi to promote environment and heritage
Dhangadhi: A vine conservation campaign has commenced in Beldandi Rural Municipality, Kanchanpur, with the objectives of environmental protection, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering tourism development.
Led by local youth Gokarna Joshi, the initiative involves planting vine seedlings and constructing support structures. In its first phase, over 450 vine seedlings have been planted in public areas to emphasize the historical and cultural identity of Beldandi.
Joshi stated that the campaign has been financially supported by the local community, with residents contributing donations of Rs 100 each. The seedlings have been planted in schools, monasteries, and other public spaces to reinforce ecological balance and promote the commercial use of vines for economic development.
The campaign aims to revive the historical significance of Beldandi while ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.
