Three arrested with gold, silver and cash in Kailali

Dhangadhi: The Armed Police Force has apprehended three individuals in Kailali with gold, silver, cash, and other valuables worth over Rs 10 million.

The suspects, identified as 36-year-old Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from Chaukuni Rural Municipality-10, Surkhet; 31-year-old Harka Bahadur BK from Birendranagar Municipality-1; and 32-year-old Mahesh Sunar from Panchpuri Municipality-11, were detained on Saturday evening at the Kauwakheda border area in Bhajani Municipality-5.

According to Senior Superintendent Uddhav Neupane of Armed Police Force No. 7 Baidyanath Bahini, the Border Out Post Pagiapasar under Armed Police Force Nepal No. 34 Battalion conducted the operation.

The seized items include 620 grams of gold, valued at Rs 80,79,561, 8 kilograms and 914 grams of silver worth Rs 1,528,460, 611,625 Indian rupees, saudi riyals, four mobile phones from various brands and silver-plated utensils

The suspects failed to provide a legitimate source for the goods they were carrying. The Armed Police Force has confirmed further investigations are underway.
