Dadeldhura: The Samaiji Festival is set to take place on 25th and 26th Mangsir in the religiously significant area of Navadurga Rural Municipality-5, Dadeldhura.
The festival, held in Chama, a renowned spiritual hub, will feature traditional Chaulo and Dhami Jhakri sword dances. The main deity worshiped during the Samaiji Festival is believed to embody the avatar of Bhagwati, a powerful goddess in Hindu mythology.
According to local legend, Chama is considered the "capital of gods and goddesses," akin to how Kathmandu is the capital of humans. Surendra Bista, a local resident, emphasized that drinking, selling, or causing disturbances under the influence of alcohol has been strictly prohibited during the festivities.
