Pooja Bohara earns Rs 40,000 monthly from cart business in Dadeldhura
Dadeldhura: Twenty-two-year-old Pooja Bohara from Amargadhi Municipality-2, Naya Basti, has proven that determination and hard work can lead to success in one’s homeland. Operating a street cart business, Pooja earns Rs 40,000 monthly by selling momos, chow mein, pakodas, panipuri, chatpate, and choila.
Born into a middle-class family, Pooja faced numerous challenges to reach her current position. Married at the age of 17, she struggled for four years before starting her cart business six months ago. Despite working 12 hours a day, she not only meets her household expenses but also manages to save money.
Pooja handles all aspects of her business independently, from sourcing supplies to preparing the food. While her husband supports her in other areas, she manages the cart on her own throughout the day.
She emphasizes that women face economic, social, and political disadvantages when confined to household roles and believes her journey is an example of overcoming such barriers.
