Deceased’s inmate’s suicide note found by Kailali police
Dhangadhi: 23-year-old Deepak BK of Ghodaghodi Municipality-4 of Kailali was arrested on 7th Magh 2080. The police arrested him on charges of rape. Kailali District Court sent BK to prison on Falgun 3, 2080.
He was in the detention cell of District Jail Kailali for 6 months. Bk was found unconscious in the toilet of District Jail Kailali and died on Bhadra 31, 2081. He was taken to Seti Provincial Hospital after he was found unconscious in the toilet. His body is in the mortuary of Seti Provincial Hospital.
After his demise, his girlfriend, a 14-year-old girl, was arrested by the police. The girl who is BK’s girlfriend is revealed to be his cousin. The police said that Bk was in a relationship with his cousin. Deepak Bk was sent to Kailali Jail for raping the same girl.
A letter addressed to his girlfriend was acquired where he claimed to have been beaten to death inside the prison. According to Kailali Police's investigation, Bk died after consuming a pesticide called Sulphas. Kailali police said that it was revealed during the investigation that he acquired the Sulphas through his girlfriend who had visited him in prison.
In a 37-page letter, the jail stated that Bk had chosen to commit suicide as the couple had prior plans of dying together. In the letter he wrote, ‘ I am saying this in front of everyone. We were not allowed to live together while we were alive but after death, I wish for us to be burnt in the same pyre. This is my last wish.'
The family came to know about the love relationship between the cousins only in Falgun 2080. At that time, the girl was three months pregnant. The incest created tension amongst their family.
The girl's family filed a complaint against Deepak on Falgun 8, 2080 at the local police office in Sukhad for rape. He was arrested in the same case and sent to jail for preliminary investigation. The girl's pregnancy was aborted.
After Deepak was jailed, the girl visited him addressing herself as his wife. They frequently connected over the phone. Both of them were devastated about the abortion.
According to the statement given by the arrested teenager to the police, “ we decided to die together. “ It's our last day, on this earth. Then no one will have any stress, read the letter.
How did the poison get into the prison? It was revealed that his girlfriend, who went to Kailali Jail to meet Deepak Bk on Bhadra 26, gave him Sulphas. She went to visit him in the prison that day with three pairs of clothes and a plastic box of pickle.
The police checked it and even tasted it. “It seems that she managed to insert a packet of Sulphas in the pickle box and transferred it to the inmate.
After giving the Sulphas to Deepak, the girl also stated that she had prepared a packet for herself as well, however she forgot to carry it with herself. They were planning to consume it together. On the afternoon of Bhadra 31, Deepak consumed the Sulphas given by his girlfriend.
"His last wish was to be cremated in the same pyre." A 37-page suicide note written by Deepak before his death has been found. In the suicide note found inside the prison, Deepak has expressed his pain and anguish saying that the family is only bothered about their reputation and have paid no attention to the couple’s feelings.
It is mentioned in the suicide note that after he was sent to prison, his girlfriend was deprived of her happiness and she was fighting with death because she could not make a decision due to stress, but now both of them will choose to die so that there are no more obstacles.
