Ministry of Forests and Environment approves felling of trees for construction of Seti Lokmarg

Dhangadhi: Rashtriya Gaurav Yojana (National pride project) has approved the cutting of forest trees in Doti section of Seti Lokmarg.

The meeting held on Friday accepted the proposal of the Ministry of Forests and Environment to solve the environmental problem and cut down the forest trees in the Doti area and advance the road construction work.

The decision of the Council of Ministers has opened the way for the construction of 40 km of Doti section of Seti Lokmarg to be proceeded. The construction had been delayed as the government had not approved the felling of trees in that area.

An agreement was signed in November last year to construct a 40 km road track up to Lodeghat bordering Doti. Sapna-Jaima-Swargadwari JV has received the contract to construct the road in that section at a cost of around 65 crores.
