A corruption case filed against Prabhat Pal, Watershed Management Officer
Dhangadhi: A case of corruption has been filed against the watershed officer of Kailali.
A corruption case has been filed against Prabhat Pal, Watershed Management Officer of President Chure-Tarai Madhesh Conservation Development Committee, Program Implementation Unit Lamki, Kailali.
Authority Spokesperson Nagahari Ghimire of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority said that it has been confirmed that Pal demanded a bribe of 120,000 rupees from the construction company who had received the contract for building dykes. He claimed to process the contractor’s payment soon after receiving a bribe.
He was arrested by the team of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Nepalgunj on 5th Baisakh while taking bribe from a service recipient. According to the authority, he will be fined Rs 120,000 for the offence under subsection (1) of section 3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059. A charge sheet has been filed against him today in the special court in Kathmandu.
