Kathmandu: Global disruption strikes as Meta, under the leadership of Mark Zuckerberg, encounters widespread outages across its platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Threads. Users worldwide are grappling with difficulties loading pages, encountering server errors, and experiencing unexpected logouts.
According to Downdetector, a reputable website monitoring service, there have been over 300,000 reported Facebook outages and more than 47,000 Instagram outage reports globally, exacerbating the frustration among users.
In response to the ongoing issue, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone acknowledged the disruptions and reassured users that efforts are underway to resolve the technical difficulties. "We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now," Stone stated in a post on social media platform X.
The disruptions, which began around 8:56 pm, have impacted users' ability to load content on their feeds, with issues ranging from app malfunctioning to login failures and content uploading glitches.
Netblocks, a London-based internet monitoring organization, also confirmed the widespread outages, noting that Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads, are experiencing login session issues across multiple countries.
