Sudurpaschim Province Announces Team for National T-20 Championship
Dhangadhi: The Sudurpaschim Province cricket team has unveiled its squad for the upcoming Koshi Pradesh Trophy National T-20 Championship, scheduled to commence in Biratnagar from March 5th.
Vasudev Joshi, the President of the Far West Provincial Cricket Association, disclosed that a 14-member team led by Hemant Dhami has been selected for the tournament. Deepak Bohra will serve as the vice-captain, with other notable members including Deepak Chand Thakuri, Naren Bhatta, Naren Saud, Khadak Bohara, Sher Malla, Tek Rawat, Abhishek Pal, Deepak Bohra, Bhojraj Bhatta, Kiran Thagunna, Basant Karki, and Narayan Joshi. Additionally, Vikas Agri, Yuvraj Khatri, Sanjay Bohra, and Prakash Pandey have been named as alternate players.
The selection process was based on the outstanding performance of the players during a rigorous three-day closed training session held at Phapla ground in Dhangadhi, as stated by the association. President Joshi emphasized that the team comprises individuals who have demonstrated commendable skills, drawing from their experiences in Nepal 'A' Group, U-19 World Cup, and Prime Minister's Cup cricket teams.
The championship, organized by the Morang Cricket Association, is set to take place at the Girija Prasad Koirala Cricket Stadium in Baijnathpur, Biratnagar, spanning from February 22 to March 3. Featuring three departmental teams and seven state-level teams, the tournament will witness fierce competition among participating teams, which will be divided into two groups, as announced by the organizers.
