Khaptad Chededah Rural Municipality in Bajura Passes 'Limited Menstruation Management Procedure, 2080'
Bajura: In a significant move towards addressing social malpractices and promoting gender equality, Khaptad Chededah Rural Municipality of Bajura has enacted the 'Limited Menstruation Management Procedure, 2080'.
Vice President Bisudevi Nath announced that the procedure, presented during the 14th winter session of the rural municipality, garnered unanimous approval during the meeting convened on Friday. She emphasized that the aim of this procedure is to eradicate the Chhaupadi custom, a deeply rooted social issue, and to combat discrimination against women. The enactment of a comprehensive menstrual management protocol aims to effectively address the societal challenges associated with Chhaupadi prevalent in the municipality.
Chairman Dil Bahadur Rawat highlighted that the approved procedure underscores the importance of dignified menstruation and commits to addressing related issues promptly. He affirmed the municipality's commitment to implementing the procedure diligently to mitigate the prevalence of the Chhaupadi system. Rawat expressed optimism that the implementation of the procedure would contribute significantly to diminishing gender-based discrimination within the community.
