Fatal Collision Claims Life in Kanchanpur: Scooter and Motorcycle Accident Results in Tragedy

Dhangadhi: A tragic incident unfolded in Kanchanpur as a collision between a scooter and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 48-year-old individual. The fatal road accident occurred on Monday morning in the Mahendranagar-Bhansi section under the East-West highway of the district, resulting in the demise of Tara Singh Karki from Bhimdatta Municipality Ward No. 9.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the collision transpired between a scooter with the license plate 020041 P 2700 registered in Sudurpaschim Province and a motorcycle with the plate number M 2 P 7456 in Bhansi. Tara Singh Karki succumbed to injuries during treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital, while his wife, Lakshmi Karki, who was riding on the same scooter, sustained injuries.

The motorcycle operator, 22-year-old Shersingh Sarki from Bedkot Municipality-10, who initially fled the scene, has been apprehended by the police. Authorities have also detained the tractor driver present at the accident site for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Tara Singh Karki's body has been placed at Mahakali Provincial Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic collision.
