Significant Confiscation of Illegal Merchandise in Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, and Darchula
Dhangadhi: Law enforcement authorities have made substantial seizures of illicit goods, valued at lakhs of rupees, across multiple locations, including Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur, Dhangadhi in Kailali, and Mahakali in Darchula.
In Kanchanpur, the police discovered and confiscated contraband valued at approximately Rs. 50,000, comprising of sugar, mishri, pulses, and various other items that had evaded customs duties. This cache of illegal goods was apprehended from the bus park of Bhimdatta Municipality-4. Additionally, authorities in front of the electricity office in Bhimdatta Municipality-10 seized goods including bidi and plastic, with an estimated value of around Rs. 15,000.
Further operations led to the seizure of items worth Rs. 45,000, including kurta suruwal and children's wooden suruwal, in Shuklaphanta Municipality-12 at the Kalagaudi bridge. In a separate incident, the police patrol team in Belauri municipality, Ward No. 10 Sadagghat, confiscated illicit tobacco products valued at approximately Rs. 15,500.
In the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-4, goal market area of Kailali, law enforcement authorities seized ladies' suits, kurtis, dhoti, and other merchandise worth roughly Rs. 30,000. Simultaneously, illegal goods valued at Rs. 96,000, comprising sugar, plastic rope, bidi, and tobacco, were intercepted and subsequently destroyed in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-9, Bangraktan, on Monday.
In yet another successful operation, customs evasion goods were recovered from the hilly terrain of Darchula. The police managed to seize illegal goods with an approximate value of Rs. 80,500 from Mahakali Municipality-9, specifically in the area known as Dattu within the district. Authorities have ensured that all confiscated items will be handed over to the relevant customs office for further action.
