Fugitive Accused Apprehended in Baitadi

Baitadi: In a significant development in a corruption case, law enforcement authorities in Baitadi have successfully apprehended two individuals who had been evading justice. The District Police Office in Baitadi, represented by Police Inspector Yogesh Khatri, has confirmed the arrest of Devraj Kapadi from Dogdakedar Rural Municipality-3, Srikot, and Ratansingh Bhandari from the same Rural Municipality-4, Bhandarigaon.

The arrests come in the wake of a court ruling handed down on April 27, 2023 (14 Baisakh, 2080 BS). The district court had levied a fine of Rs. 30,950 against Devraj Kapadi and sentenced him to four months of imprisonment. Similarly, Ratansingh Bhandari was ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 16,550 and serve a four-month prison sentence. Both individuals had been fugitives from justice since the court pronounced its verdict.
