Goods Valued at Over 11 Lakh Seized in Kanchanpur and Kailali
Dhangadhi: Authorities have successfully intercepted and confiscated a cache of goods suspected of being involved in customs evasion, with incidents reported in both Kanchanpur and Kailali.
In the first instance, items such as clothing, Bluetooth speakers, plastic chairs, and various other merchandise, collectively estimated at around Rs. 50,000, were apprehended. These goods were allegedly imported illegally from India and were discovered near the premises of the electricity office in Bhimdatta Municipality Ward No. 10, Kanchanpur. Furthermore, an assortment of apparel, including coats and pants, with an approximate value of Rs. 10 lakh 67 thousand, were seized in the vicinity of Gaddachouki. Among these items were shorts, track suits, jeans pants, ladies' suits, mobile covers, slippers, and various other products. The items were intercepted and taken into custody by a vigilant police patrol team on a Saturday evening.
In a separate operation, authorities seized an assortment of goods valued at approximately Rs. 19,700 in Badahara, situated within the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city of Kailali. These goods included sugar, soda, sweets, chocolates, and other consumables. The operation was successfully executed on a Saturday, marking a significant development in efforts to combat unlawful activities in the region.
