Doctors Association in Dhangadhi Condemns Assault on Medical Professionals
Dhangadhi: Outrage has erupted in response to the disturbing incident involving the assault of Dr. Vikas Thapa and Dr. Prashant Bidari, both associated with Sancho Hospital in Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-1.
On a fateful Wednesday morning, a group comprising 8-10 individuals forcibly entered the hospital premises and subjected the two doctors from Sancho Hospital in Hetauda-1 to a physical assault. Dr. Bidari and Dr. Thapa, both dedicated members of the Anesthesia Department at Hetauda Hospital, were targeted while returning from attending to patients at Sancho Hospital.
The brutal attack left the doctors with injuries to their faces and eyes. According to the police investigation, the assault was reportedly carried out by several individuals, including Rajesh Pradhan from Hetauda-12, who tragically succumbed to dengue fever on July 25. Those involved in the attack are identified as his wife, Rama, son Amit, daughter Ramita, nephew Anup, and others.
In response to this reprehensible act, the Nepal Teachers' Association in Sudurpaschim Province, Dhangadhi, has issued a strong statement. The union has voiced its protest, highlighting seven specific demands that underscore the importance of safeguarding medical professionals and ensuring their safety in the line of duty.
