Nepal Clinches Top Honors at Inaugural South Asian Karate Tournament

Baitadi: Nepal has achieved a historic victory, emerging as the champions in the inaugural South Asian Karate Tournament hosted in Chennai, India.

Rajendra Kalouni, hailing from Baitadi, played a pivotal role in Nepal's triumph by defeating competitors from Bangladesh, ultimately securing the coveted gold medal. Nepal secured the top position by triumphing over Bangladesh, with the latter claiming the runner-up position and India clinching third place in this prestigious tournament.

Notably, Kalouni, the gold medalist who significantly contributed to Nepal's victory, also serves as the President of the Nepal Democratic Sports Association in Baitadi. The tournament, organized by the Japan Karate Dr. Koshikai Shitorio Association of Nepal, saw enthusiastic participation from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

This historic win marks a momentous achievement for Nepalese karate and showcases the remarkable talent and dedication of athletes like Rajendra Kalouni on the international stage.
