Doti: On Thursday, a designated government team departed from Doti, carrying official pooja materials destined for Badimalika in Bajura.

As an annual practice, the revered religious and tourist site of Badimalika in the Far West region receives official worship materials (Petaro). Continuing this tradition, Chief District Officer Gopal Prasad Aryal of the District Administration Office Doti dispatched a special prayer offering to Petaro Badimali.

The customary main pooja at Badimalika is observed on Chaturdashi, the day preceding Janai Purnima. Since the Rana era, it has been a long-standing tradition to journey from Doti Gauna to Petaro for this significant ritual. The wearing of Petaro extends for a duration of 15 days. The government delegation embarking on this journey today is scheduled to rest in East Chowki Rural Municipality-1 Phulaut in the evening and continue to Dhanukanda in East Chowki-5 on Friday. Furthermore, adhering to the time-honored practice, the route to Badimalika is traversed on foot via Marku and Baidyanath in Achham.

The assortment of pooja materials encompasses bhururi (rice leaves) sourced from Doti Dipayal, as well as Akshata from Vaidyanath. This year's Petaro expedition is under the guidance of Chhatra Bahadur Khadka, a driver affiliated with the District Coordination Committee Doti. The departure of the Petaro offerings was marked with salutations from the Nepalese Army, Nepalese Police, and Armed Police Forces. Notably, the revered Shaileshwari Temple and Malika of Petaro Toli Doti have contributed to this ceremonial journey to Badimalika.
