Customs Evasion Goods Seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur; Police Take Swift Action

Dhangadhi: Instances of customs evasion have come to light as authorities successfully confiscated illicit goods in Kailali and Kanchanpur.

In Dhangadhi's sub-metropolitan city-3, specifically at Milan Chowk, a police patrol team stumbled upon abandoned contraband items on Tuesday evening. The seized goods, including sugar, tobacco, beedi, pasta, and plastic film, carried an estimated value of NPR 33,274. These items were illicitly transported from Chatakpur and Tikapur Municipality's ward number-9, known as Khakraulapul. Prompt action was taken by the police to secure the contraband items and commence investigations into the matter.

Moreover, in another incident on Tuesday, a police patrol team intercepted and confiscated soda sugar with an approximate value of NPR 13,000. The goods were unlawfully brought from Baijudada in Belauri Municipality-2, situated in Kanchanpur district. Authorities are diligently pursuing the investigation, aiming to identify the individuals involved in the illegal activities.

The law enforcement agencies remain committed to combatting such instances of customs evasion and will continue their efforts to maintain the integrity of trade regulations.
