Customs evasion goods found in Kailali
Kailali: Authorities in Kailali have discovered a cache of goods involved in customs evasion. On Friday, veterinary medicine with an estimated value of 18,872 rupees was confiscated in the Chilim Chaurah section of Tikapur-Khakraula road, located in Tikapur municipality-9. The medicine, labeled as "Audi Plus" along with syringes, had been illicitly smuggled through customs.
A collaborative effort between the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office in Dhangadhi and the Elaka Police Office in Tikapur led to the seizure of these abandoned drugs. Simultaneously, in Trinagar, situated in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-2, a police team from the Trinagar Kailali police station successfully apprehended and seized contraband goods worth NPR 10,000. The confiscated items included window-door curtains involved in customs evasion, as well as milk powder, sugar, and other undisclosed items.
Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the incidents, and further developments are anticipated.
